Some like it hot, so let’s turn up the heat! These spicy shrimp are seasoned to perfection. Try them by themselves, or serve them with salad, pasta or rice.
We love the flavour combination of nutty hemp oil, spicy hot peppers and peperone. Not a fan of spice? Just replace the hot peppers and peperone for sweet red and yellow peppers!
We marinated our Spicy Grilled Shrimp in Mettrum Originals™ Cold-Pressed Hemp Oil. To preserve the Omega-3 make sure not to preheat your pan before adding in your oil and shrimp.
¼ cup Mettrum Originals™ Cold-Pressed Hemp Oil +2 tbsp. for dressing
½ tsp. coriander powder
½ tsp. cumin powder
2 cups of peeled shrimp
2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
2 hot peppers, sliced
2 peperone, sliced
2 cloves of garlic, sliced
½ tsp. fresh ground black pepper
Pinch of sea salt
Combine hemp seed oil, coriander, cumin, salt, pepper with the shrimp in a sealable container.
Let marinate in the refrigerator for 20 – 30 minutes.
Pre-heat a pan over medium heat.
Once heated add your shrimp and hemp oil marinade, hot peppers, peperone, sliced garlic and parsley.
Flip shrimp when they have turned white, orange and opaque. (Shrimp are fully cooked when they are opaque throughout)
Remove from heat and add in the last 2 tbsp. of hemp oil.
Toss gently, then spoon on to your choice of rice, noodles or salad.
