Happy day before Valentines day!
Romance is in the air and everywhere we go we see red heart shaped boxes of candy and chocolate. It seems that all our significant holidays are paired with sweets for our sweeties, but we don’t need to put our health on the back burner to show how much we care for them.
Whether you are cooking for a significant other, or treating yourself to a well-deserved meal try #MettrumOriginals Cold-Pressed Hemp Oil. It makes the perfect base for a delicious salad dressing. We chose this meal for it’s deliciously complex flavor pallet, quick prep time and easy clean up. When it comes down to it, is this not why we like to dine out? No one wants to spend hours cooking in the kitchen just to turn around and spend hours cleaning up.

¼ cup sesame oil
¼ cup lemon juice
¼ cup soy
1 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ tablespoon fresh garlic
4-ounce salmon steak
Honey Mustard Hemp Oil Dressing
¼ cup #MettrumOriginals Cold-Pressed Hemp Oil
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tsp soya sauce
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tbsp honey
Apple Mandarin Salad
1 cup baby spinach
¼ cup mandarin oranges
¼ bunch of green onions, diced
2 tablespoons of slivered almonds
½ granny smith apple, sliced (or golden delicious if you prefer a sweeter flavor)
2 tablespoons #MettrumOriginals Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds
2 tablespoons of dried cranberries
Teriyaki Salmon Fillet
Mix sesame oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame seeds, ground mustard, ginger and garlic in a small saucepan over low heat. Bring to a simmer until sugar has dissolved. Set aside 1.5 cup for marinade.
Pour remaining marinade in to a reasonable plastic bag and place salmon into marinade.
Let sit for 1-2 hours. Drain and discard used marinade.
Set oven rack about 4 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Place salmon steaks into a broiler pan for 5 minutes. Brush steaks with reserved marinade, flip, and broil until fish is opaque and flakes easily, about 5 more minutes. Brush again with marinade.
Honey Mustard Hemp Oil Dressing & Apple Mandarin Salad
In a small bowl whisk together Cold-Pressed Hemp Oil, apple cider vinegar, soya sauce, Dijon mustard and honey. Once combined check the dressing to ensure it is seasoned to taste.
In a separate bowl mix together the baby spinach, mandarin oranges, green onions, almonds, dried cranberries and feta. Drizzle desired amount of dressing over the mixture and lightly toss before plating the salad. Add apple slices to the plate, then sprinkle #MettrumOriginals Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds before placing Salmon Fillet on top.
Optional: for an added boost of flavor add a small drizzle of Teriyaki sauce to the apples.
