There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh baked banana bread in the morning. This simple recipe is scrumptious and easy to prepare. Your family won’t even notice it’s a healthier alternative to the store bought brand they are used to.
To boost the nutrition of this family favorite we’ve replaced some of the original flour with Mettrum Originals Hemp Seed Flour. We recommend replacing between 8% - 25% of your overall flour content with hemp flour.
2 -3 ripe bananas, peeled and mashed
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
pinch of salt (optional)
½ cup of chocolate chips or walnuts (optional)
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour. Substitute 25% of your flour with Mettrum Originals Hemp Seed Flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 4x8 loaf pan.
In a large bowl combine, all purpose flour, Hemp Seed Flour, baking soda, chocolate chips or walnuts and salt. In a second bowl cream together butter and brown sugar. Slowly stir in vanilla and eggs followed by the mashed bananas. Once combined add the two mixtures together and stir until moist.
Pour mixture into the loaf pan and bake for approx. 60 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf, the toothpick will come out clean when the loaf is done.
