These lovely warm buttery scones are now a staple in the Mettrum Originals kitchen. The flavour fusion of blueberries, hemp and lavender is fresh and delectable. You won’t find scones this good in your local store. We’ve added Mettrum Originals Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds into these scones, making them a healthy breakfast treat the whole family will enjoy.
Lavender is a beautiful flavor to add to your baking, it can however be intimidating to use at first. If you think you may find the flavour overpowering, try adding a little less than the recipe calls for.
½ cup of raw honey
1 tbsp. dried lavender buds
1 cup blueberries
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tablespoon baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ cup Mettrum Originals Raw Shelled Hemp Seeds
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Stir together the flour, baking powder, lavender, hemp seeds and baking soda.
In a second bowl whisk together the honey, buttermilk, vanilla and blueberries.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms
Transfer dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until dough forms.
Pat down the dough into roughly a 10x6 rectangle
Cut dough into 4 squares and each square diagonally.
Bake scones until they are golden brown, usually between 13-15 minutes.
